Everyone loves (or hates) to hear about the hype of Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving ie. the busiest shopping day in the year). Shopping buffs, such as yours truly, revel in 3 AM wake up calls, cool crisp air in which your nose turns numb, a few sips of Starbucks and some jumping jacks to energize themselves after a night long turkey coma for what will surely be a race to the finish line (in this case a 32'' Toshiba TV and a new down comforter). Contrary to popular belief, we are not crazy and/or greedy people (I would never get into a fight over a Coach purse or new laptop) and many often give away gifts purchased that day. But others like some office mates of mine would rather slumber in peace as half the United States goes mad over great deals, an honorable decision many choose as well. Either way, there are still good deals to be had after the big Black Friday. Rest from fatigue of shopping, football, family or too much food (or a combination of all of the above) over the weekend, but prepare yourselves for Monday, or for that matter the rest of the weekend. Yes avid shoppers, to our delight, Monday has been coined "Cyber Monday" for many online retailers who get a rush of business every day after Black Friday. E Commerce has itself a prize winner by feeding into the shopping hype. It recommends itself to those who cannot or wish not to go out. You can bet that over the weekend hundreds of thousands of people of all ages and interests, even those who refuse to brave the cold on the previous Friday, will be combing websites for great deals from now until a few weeks after the holiday season.
Moral of the story: Use your website to promote your products by:
- Using E Commerce on Your Website (if you already have it, good for you!)
- Promote your items by having coupons and discounts. Use headers and taglines reading: Up to --% off! or BIGGEST SALE OF THE SEASON (it gets me to look everytime!)
Other Pros
- No staff needed to sell your products, just an easy checkout system linked to automated shipping lists
- No one needs to worry about crowd control
